Cling to Truth

Did God really give all of us a "sound mind"? I believe Him, so we must all have one... so what is stopping everybody from BEING sound?

I've always known that people don't think the same. In the past year I've realized the spectrum of people's thought processes is much broader than I believed. As a result, miscommunication is everywhere. Communication and social skills are more valuable than ever in this world of idea overload. Not all ideas are bad, but keep in mind this line from Inception: "What is the most resilient parasite? Bacteria? A virus? An intestinal worm? An idea. Resilient... highly contagious. Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere.

We are all infected with ideas - some good, some bad. What's even more interesting is the way all our ideas tie together. People can't seem to connect the dots very well. Folks who don't seem to think rationally, evidenced by the ideas they harbor, after put me in a "Squidward mood" as I've affectionately named it. I named it thus because Squidward once said, "Everyone's an idiot except for me."

This is not a good mood to be in; ironically, it makes me more of an idiot. The more I focus on the ideas of others, the more it drives me nuts and the more I start thinking like them. This is NOT good! It seems I should just worry about my own ideas, making sure they are well-connected, good ideas, and focus on knowing what I'm talking about. The more I understand my own ideas, the better equipped I am to defend and spread them. The key is not to know how to rebuttal other ideas, but to know truth very, VERY well.

Let go of the crazy world's philosophies, let go of being right, and just cling to truth.

New Year - New Themes

Wow, 2011 was an emotional/social/professional circus!

The following are a few personal focuses and creeds for the year 2012:
Cease using the following phrases: "I hate ____"  "I don't care" and "I'm tired".

Why eliminate these phrases? Noticed how unattractive hate, apathy, and fatigue are; they don't reflect a go-and-do attitude. If people around me don't like these conditions of mind/body, and these conditions don't benefit me, why would I embrace such conditions or even broadcast them to everyone? Time to stop shooting myself in the foot and start showing everyone that I have a strong, go-and-do attitude.

Dare to be remarkable. Live with style.

Do something frightening just because it's frightening. Take more shots.

Never suppress a generous thought. Serve anonymously

Be a problem solver, not a problem reporter. Cease to be idle. Sweat.

Shake the gates of hell forever.

Recognize when to think and when to act. Just do it.

Tell women that they're beautiful; they are.

Happy New Year
